The Election Day totals are in and orange continues to stay in the forefront of color trends for Fall 2015!
As your votes reveal, the warm and inviting Carrot Cake is the Fall 2015 Seasonal Favorite Paint Color (and perhaps an item on your dessert menu this holiday season!)
Choosing just one favorite shade from this dynamic color palette was likely not an easy decision. McCormick Paints Color Consultant, Liz Stone, purposely chose these colors that not only work beautifully on their own, but could be paired together cohesively as an “urban retro” inspired color palette. As with any color palette, balance is important. This is precisely why Liz selected eye pleasing neutrals, Bonaire (0020) and Evermore (0557), to offset the brighter, vibrant colors, including the winner, Carrot Cake (1054), and your second place finisher, Charybdis (0661).
It wasn’t an easy choice. We challenged you to vote for just one Fall 2015 Favorite Color in the seasonal color poll, and the ever-popular orange-red takes the cake! Receiving 37.5% of the votes, Carrot Cake proves that orange is the “go to” color once again. Last fall, Spiced Carrot (0052) a close relative of this year’s Fall color winner, was voted the seasonal favorite paint color, proving the lasting popularity of orange tones in interior design. Last year we focused on burnt-orange solely as a wall color, exploring ways to paint with orange, such as accent walls. This year, let’s talk about exploring the different ways burnt orange could be displayed in your home or commercial décor. We already know that orange can make a great wall or accent wall color. But orange is also a great choice for accessories, furniture or rugs, especially when painting with the other colors from this urban-retro palette as a background color.
