Spring 2015 Paint Color Trends

Tomorrow marks the official first day of spring, and McCormick Paints is excited to announce the paint colors for the Spring 2015 Seasonal Color Poll! This season, McCormick Paints paired up with interior designer Halle von Kessler, founder of 8 Boxwood Lane design firm in Baltimore, Maryland. We asked Halle to select four trending paint colors for this spring from the McCormick Paints Color Is collection. Of the 1320 colors in this comprehensive collection, Halle balanced her choices with two neutral colors teamed up with two bold tones.

“Color is such an important part of a space. Whether it takes a neutral role or a stronger one, color impacts balance, mood, light, design and decor selections,” says Halle. For spring 2015, Halle identified a few of the latest trending colors she calls her “faves” mixing both neutral colors with bolder, deeper hues. Together, Halle’s spring color choices create an eye catching, yet balanced color palette. Here’s how Halle von Kessler describes her McCormick Paints Spring 2015 color choices:

Joyous Song (1187)

“This season we are into a deep aubergine, which though in the purple family, can act as another dark neutral such as navy or the more expected chocolate brown. You would be surprised what other colors pair well with this rich, gorgeous, deep eggplant color.”

Crack Willow (0395)

“Burnt golds and bronzes are showing up all over in plumbing fixtures and hardware, but we are also loving it on wall trims and painted furniture. We consider this to be very fashion forward!”

Joyful Tears (0683)

“We are also loving what we call a Chinese green – a deeper, darker green with a mix of blue. Joyful Tears’ mix of green is an even fresher take on the recent trending color, royal blue.”

Garden Hedge (0378)

“You can’t go wrong with a taupe type neutral. Garden Hedge is a fresh take on a ‘natural’ palette and pairs well with a variety of other colors.”
