McCormick Paints Shows Hometown Support as a Corporate Partner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment
February 2, 2016 – Rockville, MD – McCormick Paints, the largest independent paint manufacturer and retailer in the mid-Atlantic, announced today its corporate partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE). This partnership will feature in-arena LED branding and signage during events at Washington, D.C.’s premier venue, Verizon Center, with a focus on the remaining Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards regular-season home games.
Monumental Sports & Entertainment owns the NHL’s Washington Capitals, NBA’s Washington Wizards, WNBA’s Washington Mystics and Verizon Center. Verizon Center is a 20,000-seat arena that hosts an average of 220 events per year, inclusive of games, concerts, family shows and world-class sporting events as well as home games for the NCAA’s Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball team.
“We’re excited to show support for our hometown teams and events through this partnership,” says McCormick Paints President & CEO, Casey McCormick. “Many people don’t realize that we’ve been manufacturing our paint right here in the D.C. area for over 55 years. We’ve been part of the greater Washington, D.C., community since the family business began in 1960, and we are thrilled to show our pride in our hometown.”
Headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, McCormick Paints currently operates 27 company-owned retail stores throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, Northern Virginia, Richmond and Delaware, with stores opening soon in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the Tidewater region of Virginia. “As we continue to grow our footprint, it’s important that we continue to support our local communities, especially the hometown community where it all began.”
The corporate partnership also includes McCormick Paints presenting sponsorship of the Washington Wizards Points in the Paint in-game promotion that displays each team’s points from within the paint during the game.
“Many of our customers, from contractors to architects, attend Verizon Center events,” Casey adds, “We hope they’ll share in our excitement as our name flashes across the 20,000-seat venue, driving home the message that we are your hometown paint store.”
