August 13, 2014 – Rockville, MD – With the launch of the new McCormick Paints website in June, McCormick Paints also launched its first ever Seasonal Color Poll, a way to gage the public’s color preferences based on the seasons by polling for a favorite paint color.
Choosing one favorite paint color can be a daunting task, especially when looking at a collection of 1320 colors. That’s why McCormick’s in-house color consultant, Liz Stone, narrowed down the choices to four colors that embody the carefree, sensational season we call summer.
Stone selected a pallet of colors representative of summer and in line with current color trends. New Foliage (0400) was chosen for its fresh hint of green that brings the outdoors inside. Drifting Sand (0218) was chosen to its down-to earth yet beachy look and feel. Water Droplet (0503), a soft blue, was chosen for its calm and tranquil qualities. And Harrow Gate (0230) represented a clean canvas through its gray-beige hues.
The Seasonal Color Poll is a new feature on McCormickPaints.com, and online voting was open to the public from June through August 7, 2014. The results for the first ever Seasonal Color Poll came in at:
Water Droplet (0503): 43%
Harrow Gate (0230): 26.7%
New Foliage (0400): 19.8%
Drifting Sand (0218): 10.5%
Gaining the majority of the public’s votes, Water Droplet (0503) is the winner of the Summer 2014 Seasonal Color Poll. In light of its popularity, McCormick Paints is giving away 125 quart sized samples of Water Droplet in REVO Paint + Primer in One, a premium, interior line in either Eggshell or Flat finish.
